Through The Looking Glass

Writer: Christopher ClawsonChristopher Clawson

This post details my last BA Photography project at University.

The project explores how cultural heritage is represented through mannequins/dioramas. It questions whether they create a dark sinister side to history and if there is any authenticity in what they show. It is a different but complicated project that required a wide range of specific research. The references used are in the bibliography under the project statement (the project has tentative links with memory and my own fears).

The exhibitions were displayed at the University of Northampton Degree Show 2018 (8th to 15th of June 2018) and the Free Range in London (28th June to 2nd July 2018). I would like to thank the following museums in Northampton (Abington Park), Towcester, Wellingborough and Kettering (Alfred East) for allowing me to photograph there mannequins for this project.
