This Cookie Policy explains how CJC Photographic/CJC Photography ("Company", "we", "us", and "our") uses cookies and similar technologies to recognize you when you visit our websites at CJC Photography UK, ("Websites"). It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.
In some cases we may use cookies to collect personal information, or that becomes personal information if we combine it with other information. You have every right to block cookies, however it might cause the website not to function correctly. By using the website, you give your consent to the collection of analytical data as described in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.
What are they?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners in order to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.
Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, CJC Photography UK) are called "first party cookies". Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third party cookies". Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g. like advertising, interactive content and analytics). The parties that set these third party cookies can recognize your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites.
Websites may also use web beacons or 'tags' to do a similar job. Like cookies, web beacons are used to collect non-personal information about the way you browse websites. An example of this could be remembering what products you placed in your shopping basket last time you visited - or whether you are a frequent visitor. A web beacon is a transparent graphic image that is placed on a website or in an email and is used to see when that web page or email has been displayed. If a website does not use cookies it will think you are a new user each time you visit the site, you may be asked to login for example and/or reset preferences every-time.
Please note:
-
Cookies and web beacons are not able to retrieve any information from your computer that you have not already given to a website.
-
Cookies and web beacons are not able to be used to put malware or viruses on your computer.
-
Cookies and web beacons are not able to be used to control the functionality or settings of your computer or web browsing device.
-
They can be deleted at any time by following your web browser instruction manual/guidance.
Why do I use them?
Cookies and web beacons allow the website to work alongside our web analytics partner to see how the visitors like to use my website, which pages or special functions they prefer and how long you spent - even if you are a regular visitor. This helps to continually improve the website. They are also used to remember your login details, but if you are on a public computer you must delete the cookies/logout when finished.
We utilise "first party cookies" (originating from me) to store "authentication" information, therefore allowing you for example, to access/logging into the blog without the need of re-typing your login credentials. We also utilise "third party cookies" (not originating from me) to provide other "analytic" information and allow payment providers to work or plugins for social media to correctly load. Google analytics mainly set first party cookies for this website.
So to put it simpler, there are two main types used, but occasionally one more:
-
Session: They expire when you close your browser (or if you stay inactive for a certain time). They’re used for example on e-commerce websites, so you can continue browsing without losing what you put in your cart.
-
Permanent: They persist even when the browser is closed. They have an expiration date though and by law, they do not last no more than 6 months. They’re used to remember your passwords and login info, so you don’t have to re-enter them every time.
-
Third-party: Cookies attributes usually corresponds to the website domain they are on. Not for third-party cookies—as you probably gathered from the name, they are installed by third-party websites, such as advertisers. They gather data about your browsing habits, and allow them to track you across multiple websites.
We use Google Analytics which sets cookies to collect information about how visitors use our information. We use the information to compile reports and to help us improve the website. The cookies collect information in an anonymous form, including the number of visitors to the website and blog, where visitors have come to the website from and the pages they visited. To opt-out of being tracked by Google Analytics across all websites visit http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can adjust the cookie settings by using the switches on the privacy/cookie banner that appears, when you first visit this website.
For more details on what cookies are used, or for further information please get in contact.
Do you serve targeted advertising?
Third parties may serve cookies on your computer or mobile device to serve advertising through our Websites. These companies may use information about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide relevant advertisements about goods and services that you may be interested in. They may also employ technology that is used to measure the effectiveness of advertisements. This can be accomplished by them using cookies or web beacons to collect information about your visits to this and other sites in order to provide relevant advertisements about goods and services of potential interest to you. The information collected through this process does not enable us or them to identify your name, contact details or other details that directly identify you unless you choose to provide these.
Websites may also use so-called "Flash Cookies" (also known as Local Shared Objects or "LSOs") to, among other things, collect and store information about your use of our services, fraud prevention and for other site operations.
Do you use Flash cookies or Local Shared Objects?
If you do not want Flash Cookies stored on your computer, you can adjust the settings of your Flash player to block Flash Cookies storage using the tools contained in the Website Storage Settings Panel. You can also control Flash Cookies by going to the Global Storage Settings Panel and following the instructions (which may include instructions that explain, for example, how to delete existing Flash Cookies (referred to "information" on the Macromedia site), how to prevent Flash LSOs from being placed on your computer without your being asked, and (for Flash Player 8 and later) how to block Flash Cookies that are not being delivered by the operator of the page you are on at the time).
Please note that setting the Flash Player to restrict or limit acceptance of Flash Cookies may reduce or impede the functionality of some Flash applications, including, potentially, Flash applications used in connection with our services or online content.
How often will we update this Cookie Policy?
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. Please therefore re-visit this Cookie Policy regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies.

The CJC Photography UK cookies will never be used to collect any personal data. This includes your name, address, telephone number, email address, credit card information or any other payment details (without your acknowledgement).
