A digital C-TYPE is a professional photographic print that has been exposed using a machine (controlled by a computer) and exposed either using LEDs or lasers onto light sensitive paper. It is similar to a darkroom process of using an enlarger. The exposed paper is then developed using either colour or black and white chemicals. It can show more shadow and highlight detail to those of an inkjet/Giclee print which is made up of dots. These types of prints are more durable and more forgiving with fingerprints or scratches, as they can be gently wiped off.
A GICLÉE fine art print (GICLÉE is a French term meaning “to spray”) is a 'gallery standard' photograph professionally printed (at least 300dpi) using an industrial standard inkjet printer. These types of prints will match the colour garmet of the image more accurately. The resulting image will be printed on archival paper, more sharper and colour matched than typical C-TYPE prints. These prints are more prone to damage if rough handled.
